Criminal Records Review Program Update – June 2024

The Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) is nearing the release of its new online system and recently sent out another email about the upcoming changes with some additional clarity added for those who won’t be using the online portal platform.

Please review the updates below:

Microboards and Individualized Funding Users

For Microboards and Individualized Funding users,  you will be able to continue submitting your criminal record checks for your staff via your existing online link, or with the manual consent forms. You will not be required to create a business BCeID and transition to the new online platform.

A new orientation package is available here. This orientation is for users who will not be using the new online platform.

Staff Submitting Applications

For potential and existing staff who submit their criminal record checks online, there will be an expansion of ID verification options.

For applicants (staff) who do not have a BC Service Card: Once the criminal record check application is submitted, the employer will receive an email notification asking to verify the applicant’s (staff’s) identity. The employer will respond directly to the CRRP email and once that is completed, the criminal record check will be processed.

Manual Consent Forms

Manual consent forms will be processed as a last resort. They will still have this process available for those without computer access. For users who cannot use the online system, you will need to request a one-time use manual consent form from the CRRP each time you need to complete a criminal record check.
