VAl Cook

Val, and her husband Doug, have lived in Maple Ridge, BC for over 30 years where they raised their two sons. They are grateful for the support that Vela has provided them in helping to create a Microboard for their son, Trevor, when he became an adult in 2010. Val is excited to join Vela Canada’s Board and offer her years of experience and insight to pay it forward to others. For over 10 years, with the help of family, friends, and neighbours, their son has been able to live a fulfilling, independent life. As Val is retired, and her husband semi-retired, it gives them comfort to know their son has great support with his daily life choices and activities.
