Vicki Gee

Vice President

Vicki lives in a small, rural community in south central BC with her husband Rodger. She and a group of friends, neighbours & relatives created a Microboard for her nephew Jimmy in 2013. They struggled for years to bring him back to the rural community where he grew up, and to gain more control over his program. Now Jimmy & his mother live right next door. They have retained long-term stable staff and Jimmy’s hopes of re-integration into the community are looking good.  Vicki is very grateful for the role that Vela played in making this possible. She was happy to put her name forward as a director to give back to Vela and the families they support.

Vicki is retired from her profession as a software developer. She was a school trustee for six years and an elected official for eight years in the Boundary area. Now she volunteers her time for many non-profits, spending much of her time working on community and economic development. Current projects include the development of Boundary-wide food hub facilities and services, the management of a community/visitor information centre, and the development of community services in rural areas.
