Local Electrical Company Continues to Support Independent Living Options for People with Disabilities

Mott Electric Donation 2019 cropped smallVela Canada has been fortunate to receive another significant donation of $10,000 from Mott Electric; an electrical contracting company based in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland. Mott Electric's continued annual donation has provided Vela with the ability to assist individuals with disabilities and their families with information on Microboards and Individualized Funding. With over 1300 Microboards in BC, Vela Canada has experienced one of the busiest years in their organization’s history. From relaying important COVID-19 information to the people they support, to educating and launching more Microboards, Vela has seen a significant demand for their services. We, Vela Canada, cannot thank Mott Electric and their employees enough for their continued support, especially during the unique and busy year we have had.
About Mott Electric
Mott Electric set up ‘The Day of Giving’ where every employee in the company donates a minimum of one hours pay, and typically most people donate more. Mott Electric then matches all donations dollar for dollar. In 2017, Mott Electric employees donated over $60,000.00 and the company matched that to a total of $120,000.00. The donation is then split between multiple small non-profits chosen by a team.
