New: Family Respite Policy

Community Living BC (CLBC) is pleased to announce that they have created a more flexible respite policy for families. This policy incorporates learnings from how families used respite during COVID-19 and provides on-going clarity for families on the use of respite funding.

The policy starts on October 1, 2021.

In response to the community’s feedback, CLBC is adding an additional flexible option to the policy that enables people to occasionally purchase food delivery or takeout services.

Please read the policy and the Frequently Asked Questions to understand all the ways respite funding can and cannot be used as of October 1st.

If you have any questions about the new family respite policy, please reach out to your Vela facilitator.
