Angela Branch

Mentor

Angela Branch has spent her entire life living, working, and exploring the beauty of Vancouver Island. Born into a family deeply committed to advocating for people with disabilities, Angela was profoundly influenced by her late grandmother, who dedicated her life to caring for her only brother who was born with Down syndrome and then later supporting four adults with developmental disabilities in a homeshare. These early experiences instilled in Angela a lifelong passion for supporting others.

Before pursuing formal education, Angela immersed herself in community service, volunteering with the local crisis line, hospital programs, Special Olympics, and day programs. In 2001, she attended Camosun College, earning her credentials as a Community Support Worker. Since then, she has built a diverse and rewarding career, taking on roles ranging from direct support and childcare to supported employment, and later, leadership positions in day programs and group
homes.

Committed to growth and excellence in her field, Angela continues to expand her knowledge, focusing on trauma-informed practice and emotion-focused therapy to better serve those she supports.

Today, Angela resides in Langford with her teenage son and two beloved cats. Her two adult daughters, inspired by her dedication, have also chosen careers in the human services field.

When she’s not working, Angela enjoys exploring nature, swimming, and striving to master the ever-elusive balance between life and work.
