Yvonne van oort

While obtaining her Associate of Arts degree at Langara College, Yvonne had the opportunity to work with two individuals with Microboards. After completing her Associate of Arts degree, Yvonne went on to obtain a Bachelor of Social Work degree from UBC with a concentration in Child Welfare.

Since graduating from university in 2005, Yvonne has worked with children, youth and their families in many different program areas. In 2018, Yvonne started working at Vela and she has primarily been working with Mainland and Interior families. In 2020, Yvonne got certified through the Justice Institute of BC to do Home Studies. 

In her spare time, Yvonne enjoys spending time with her dogs, travelling, creative arts and engaging in fundraising events such as the annual MS bike ride and any other fundraisers that helps animals and children in need.
